What it is
Your own collagen, rebuilt.
Microneedling — collagen induction therapy — uses a medical-grade device to create thousands of tiny, controlled micro-channels that trigger your skin's own collagen and elastin production. Layered with PDGF growth factors, it progressively improves texture, pore size, fine lines, and the look of acne scarring.
At our Fort Lauderdale medical spa near Las Olas, skin is numbed first for comfort, and most patients experience only a day or two of redness similar to a mild sunburn. Because collagen remodels over time, a series of three sessions spaced about four weeks apart delivers the best results, followed by periodic maintenance.
Unlike many laser treatments, microneedling suits nearly every skin tone. It pairs well with our medical-grade facials and chemical peels, and Fort Lauderdale patients frequently combine it with a consistent Alastin skincare regimen to protect and extend results between visits.

Questions
Good to know.
Does it hurt?
Not much. Skin is numbed first, and most patients describe light pressure or a vibrating sensation rather than pain. Treatment is comfortable enough that many people relax through it.
How much does microneedling cost?
A single session is $400, or $1,000 for a series of three. PDGF growth factors are an optional add-on — $375 per session, or $1,000 for the series. Your exact plan is confirmed at your visit.
How many sessions do I need?
Most patients do a series of three, spaced about four weeks apart, then maintain once or twice a year. Collagen rebuilds gradually, so results compound with each session.
Is it safe for darker skin tones?
Yes. Unlike many laser treatments, microneedling is safe and effective for nearly every skin tone — one of the reasons we recommend it so often. Marissa reviews your skin and history before treating.
How is this different from an at-home roller?
Medical microneedling reaches a controlled, uniform depth that home rollers can't achieve safely, uses sterile single-use tips, and layers in PDGF growth factors — that's where the real collagen response comes from.
What is PDGF?
Platelet-derived growth factors that amplify healing and collagen response for better results.
What's the downtime?
Redness and mild flaking for 1–3 days. Makeup can usually be worn the next day.
